SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -A Spokane Valley woman wants to warn you to be on the lookout for a U-Haul that may be being used for more than just moving.

She spotted two people stealing packages off her porch and it was all caught on camera.

Katie Hess says the packages were winter clothes for her two little boys. Hess says she ordered the clothes off Amazon and they were supposed to come on November 8th. That day rolled around but the clothes never showed. However, Amazon said her packages were delivered on time.

Right away, she suspected her packages were stolen. She told neighbors about it and one of them found video on his home surveillance system.

In the video, you can see a U-Haul pull up to her home which is in the Pines and Trent area. A person gets out, stops at the back of the U-Haul while another person runs out of the U-Haul and dashes to the porch, taking what looks like packages. Then they bail.

"I never expected a U-Haul to drive up to my house and steal one of my packages. Little did they know that they were stealing my kids' winter clothes. Like it wasn't a TV or some giant expensive item, it was my kids winter clothes and dog food. How can you get home and open those packages and not be like, 'wow?'" said Hess.

Hess says she's reported this to police and it's really time to be cautious. She says she's going to have her packages sent to her work from now on rather than her home.

This is a really good reminder to be vigilant. Police say if you are not going to be home, it's a good idea to get your packages delivered to your work or to a neighbor you trust.

Thankfully for Hess, Amazon was able to replace all the clothes for her boys that got stolen.
