Coeur d'Alene man charged with raping 16-year-old girl

A 25-year-old man from Coeur d'Alene has been charged with raping a 16-year-old girl and other crimes, according to court documents.

The documents say the teen and a friend went to Brady Matthews' house on Monday night, where they drank alcohol and smoked marijuana. The girl said she woke up later to Matthews raping her. She told him to stop and he wouldn't. Eventually her friend intervened and pushed Matthews off the victim. The victim told her grandmother about it the next day, and police were called.

Officers went to Matthews' house in Coeur d'Alene to speak with him about what happened on Wednesday according to the documents. Matthews refused to come out of his apartment.

He eventually came out of the apartment with the victim's friend, who intervened on Monday. The girl told police he was threatening to hurt her if she talked to police.

Matthews was taken into custody and charged with rape, witness intimidation, unlawful imprisonment, and delivery of a controlled substance with a child present.
