NINE MILE FALLS, Wash. -A family's car is windowless on one side after it was shot at by a stranger with a BB gun on October 7.

The mother of the family, Alexis Eller-Doughty, said her family has been unable to afford a replacement window and her worries are growing with winter getting closer.

Eller-Doughty said she was driving with her husband, two sons and friend on October 7. She said she pulled into a gas station, then a car cut her off while she was driving towards a pump.

"I didn't think anything of it, thought, 'Well, maybe they need more gas this pump than I did.' So, I just pulled around to the other side and went about my day," she said.

But then someone in that car (which, according to Eller-Doughty, had several passengers who looked like they were in their late twenties, early thirties) shot several pellets at the back of her car. Her son's were sitting in the back, where the shots shattered the back window.

"I've thought, 'What did I do? Did I give them the wrong look? And there's nothing I did, nothing my husband did, nothing my friends did, nothing my children did in the back - nothing that we did should have caused something like this," she said.

The Stevens County Sheriff's Office said it's aware of the case and would provide more details at a later time.
