Spokane police take man with pipe into custody near Garland Theater

SPOKANE, Wash. -Spokane Police were called to the Garland Theater Monday night for a report of a man carrying a metal pipe and threatening people.

Witnesses say the man was swinging the pipe at people and being confrontational near Monroe and Garland around 8:30 p.m. Police arrived and blocked off some nearby streets while talking with the man. After about an hour the man was safely taken into custody. 

He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

No one was hurt in the incident.
